WeldConnect Energy Services is an Accredited Testing Facility (ATF) for the American Welding Society (AWS). As an ATF, WeldConnect administers Performance testing and Maintenance renewals for any Welding Code.
WeldConnect’s Mobile Testing Center comes completely equipped for on-site welder testing and procedure certification with 8 welding stations, A weldment-test area, and an administrative office. Each of the 8 welding stations, includes its own exhaust fan for a comfortable, fume-free environment, a work-holding fixture for multiple-position welding, and a multi-process welder that can be configured for a variety of welding processes including stick, TIG, MIG, and flux-cored.
To participate in WeldConnect’s welding certification program, candidates must meet the following conditions:
1. Test in Compliance with Applicable QC7 Standards
Welders need to pass a performance test that aligns with the appropriate AWS QC7 standard:
2. Performance Qualification Testing at an Accredited Facility (ATF)
All certification tests must take place at an AWS-accredited facility, such as WeldConnect. This ensures the welds meet industry standards and that certifications are valid both locally and internationally.
3. Submit the Certification Application
To officially receive AWS certification, welders must submit a completed application form. This paperwork confirms their test results and registers them with the AWS system.
4. Certification Maintenance and Renewal
AWS certifications require ongoing maintenance. Welders must submit proof before their certification expires, confirming that they have continued using the process they were certified for. This keeps the certification active and in good standing.
To participate in WeldConnect’s welding certification program, candidates must meet the following conditions:
1. Review the QC7 Standards and Supplements
Make sure you understand the AWS QC7 Standard and any applicable supplements (e.g., Supplement C, F, or G) related to your welding process.
2. Register for a Test with WeldConnect
Contact our ATF representatives to schedule your test. We offer both on-site testing at our facility and mobile testing services, bringing the test to your workplace or job site.
3. Perform the Welding Test
Complete your welding performance test under the supervision of a certified evaluator, either at our ATF facility or during a mobile testing session.
4. Application and Submission
After you pass the test, WeldConnect will submit your application, qualification records, and registration fee to the AWS Certification Department.
5. Receive Certification from AWS
AWS typically processes applications within two to three weeks after receiving them. Once processed, you’ll receive your welder certification card and maintenance form from AWS. Processing times may vary, so check with us for updates on your specific submission.
